Volkswagen Canada Unveils Innovative Solution: How Titanium Dioxide Coatings on Electric Car Covers Combat Air Pollution

1 min read

Cities worldwide are utilizing titanium dioxide coatings because of their ability to absorb air pollution. Volkswagen Canada has found a new application for these coatings by incorporating them into their all-electric ID.4 car cover, thanks to a collaboration with the TYPE1/TAXI team. These coatings, when exposed to daylight, absorb pollutants from the environment and convert them into harmless organic compounds. The custom-fit covers, created in partnership with nanotechnology company FN Nano, were distributed to ID.4 owners. Volkswagen Canada's initiative aims to showcase the positive impact of electric vehicles while also providing a practical solution to combat air pollution. Additionally, Volkswagen Canada has introduced an electric version of the iconic VW microbus as part of their commitment to promoting environmentally friendly transportation options.
